Tout est parti d'une dispute qui a opposé les deux hommes lors de funérailles qui ont eu lieu dans ce village. Ngor Sarr promet donc de tuer Vieux Diouf qui avait osé le contredire. Les personnes ayant assisté à cette dispute s'interposent entre les deux antagonistes. Mais Ngor Sarr voulant à tout prix obtenir la peau de son adversaire s’est mis aux aguets jusqu'à 2h du matin.
A cette heure, l'un des voisins qui connaît la capacité de nuire de Ngor Sarr a donc décidé de raccompagner le sieur Vieux Diouf jusque dans sa demeure pour éviter qu'il ne soit victime d'un guet-apens. Arrivé chez lui, Vieux Diouf va au lit. Mais puisqu'il ne parvient pas à dormir, il revient à la maison funéraire ; il y est resté jusqu'à 6h du matin.
A l'aube, Vieux Diouf quitte les lieux pour rejoindre sa demeure située à quelque 500 m. En cours de route, il a été attaqué par une personne qui lui a asséné un violent coup de machette sur le nez emportant ainsi le nez et une partie de la mâchoire avant de prendre la fuite dans la pénombre.
Vieux s'affale au sol, le sang gicle de partout. A ce moment, Ngor Sarr retourne tranquillement chez lui, comme si de rien n'était. Heureusement pour le blessé, il y avait un témoin. La gendarmerie a été informée et le suspect Ngor Sarr est arrêté. Après avoir nié dans un premier temps, Ngor Sarr a fini par avouer son forfait.
