Dans un communiqué repris par L'Equipe ce mercredi, la FIFA a annoncé, que la Secrétaire Générale de l'instance, Fatma Samoura, quitterait ses fonctions à la fin de l'année.
Sept ans après sa nomination comme secrétaire générale de la FIFA, la Sénégalaise Fatma Samoura (60 ans) a confirmé, ce mercredi, qu'elle allait quitter son poste à la fin de l'année, après la prochaine Coupe du monde féminine.
"Je quitterai la FIFA avec un grand sentiment de fierté et d'accomplissement », a expliqué Samoura dans un communiqué, première femme (et non-européenne) à occuper ces fonctions de secrétaire générale au sein de l'instance, après avoir succédé au Français Jérôme Valcke, qui fut emporté par le scandale du FIFAgate, déclenché en 2015. Samoura, qui veut également « consacrer plus de temps à [sa] famille", avait été installée en mai 2016 dans la foulée de l'élection de l'Italo-Suisse Gianni Infantino, après une carrière aux Nations unies.
