Les faits se sont produits dans la nuit du 25 au 26 février au Foyer des jeunes de Médina Sabakh dans le département de Nioro.
Lors d’une soirée dansante, une bagarre a éclaté entre deux jeunes qui se sont violemment affrontés, faisant un mort.
Selon les informations de Libération, Cheikh Ndiaye, élève en classe de Terminale à Keur Ayib et âgé d’une vingtaine d’années, a été froidement tué.
D’après le récit de Libé, il a été poignardé au niveau de la poitrine par son camarade qui a été arrêté par la gendarmerie.
