Un enseignant du nom de Bassirou Mbaye (servant à l'école Théophile Turpin de Ndiaffate), est décédé des suites d'une altercation avec un jeune du nom de Pape C. Kandji.
Selon un témoin, le présumé meurtrier (âgé d'une vingtaine d'années) a trouvé sa victime dans sa chambre et lui a asséné un coup mortel à l'aide d'un bâton. Bassirou Mbaye a finalement succombé à ses blessures après quelques jours d'hospitalisation. Fils d'un ancien sous-préfet de Ndiédieng, Bassirou Mbaye a logé chez les Kandji pendant 17 ans où il a vu Pape C. Kandji grandir.
Ses collègues ont décidé de hausser le ton, après cet acte "odieux". Ce matin, ceux de Ndiaffate ont battu le macadam pour réclamer justice et protester contre les agressions faites sur les enseignants.
Le secrétaire général du Sadef, Mbaye Sarr a quant à lui, appelé à une journée morte ce mercredi 04 janvier...
