Selon les informations de Libération online, les gendarmes de Nianing ont été informés le 29 avril dernier d'une tentative de vol de bétail dans le secteur de Sidibougou. Poursuivis par les populations, les malfaiteurs, au nombre de 5, ont abandonné les 8 bœufs volés avant de tirer des coups de feu pour protéger leur fuite. N'empêche, le ratissage effectué par les gendarmes de Nianing, appuyés par des éléments de l'Escadron de surveillance et d'intervention (Esi) venus de Thiès, a permis d'arrêter un des malfaiteurs et de saisir un fusil artisanal. Le reste de la bande est activement recherché. A noter qu'un berger a été légèrement blessé par arme blanche par les voleurs.
