Alors que Bargny n’a pas encore fini de pleurer ses 275 disparus, un autre drame en mer a été évité de justesse dans la même localité.
En effet, d’après les informations de Libération, six migrants dont un Bissau-Guinéen et un Gambien ont été débarqués hier, dans la matinée à la plage de Bargny.
D’après leurs déclarations faites à la police, ils étaient à bord d’une embarcation qui avait quitté le 3 novembre dernier la même plage avec une centaine de migrants à son bord. La pirogue a failli chavirer du fait du mauvais temps, d’où la décision du capitaine de la pirogue de rebrousser chemin en regagnant la terre ferme.Pierre Mboup, membre de l’Union nationale de la pêche artisanale du Sénégal, a déjà alerté sur les conditions météorologiques, indiquant qu’elles ne sont pas propices au voyage. « Partir à bord d’une pirogue à cette période de froid est synonyme d’une mort certaine », déconseille le pêcheur. En haute mer, explique-t-il, « les vents sont violents », et soufflent entre 60 et 75 km par heure.
